The Lady Rebels filled the scoreboard with crooked numbers early and often this afternoon as they host previously unbeaten Gilmour Academy. Summer Bliss, Makayla Schneider, Addy Matriano and Savannah Jolly provided much of the high powered attack accounting for 9 of the 12 South hits on the day. Each had at least one double and Jolly even added a second.

Violet Dichazy was in the circle and in control until the 7th inning when after 124 pitches the reins were handed over to Halle Zupancic who faced one batter to end the game. But it was the end of the game that was electric. With one out a Zupancic pitch was driven to centerfield where Paige Janson made the catch for the second out then fired home to catcher Linell Dichazy who immediately rifled the ball to Bliss at third for the tag out of a would be baserunner to end the game in exciting fashion.

The Rebels will enjoy a long holiday weekend before facing West Geauga on the road Tuesday.
