In game two of today’s doubleheader the Rebels tied last year’s district champion Medina Buckeye Varsity 1-1 in a defensive battle. The Rebels managed only two hits against the powerful visitors, two of those by leadoff hitter Paige Janson who was a wizard with two bunt singles and a sacrifice holding Buckeye defenders at bay.

Junior Casey Heil drove in the only South run on a deep sacrifice fly that scored Halle Zupancic from third. 

Halle Zupancic took the circle for her second straight game and pitched a beauty going the distance allowing 1 un-earned run and a strikeout. She was backed by some tremendous defense that made great plays on well hit balls and held the Bucks to one run. The non-conference battle on the bases ended in a tie after seven innings.

The Lady Rebels will have a weekend to regroup before traveling to Painesville to tangle with conference leading Riverside on Monday.
